SignUpGenius Tutorial

SignUpGenius can be a helpful tool because it will send out automatic reminders for you. You still need to make sure volunteers will be there and that a game has been reserved, but this can be an extra safeguard to make sure everyone remembers their day.

You can allow your volunteers to fill in their own dates, but often they won’t fill in all the dates. It is best to either fill them in yourself or to let them have a few days to choose favorite days with the understanding that you will fill in the remaining slots with those who haven’t signed up.

  1. Create a sign up

Scheduling is easiest if you initially mark all the days/times you will need reoccurring every week, then afterwards go through and delete the weeks that you will not meet. (For example do all Thursdays at 10:30 even if you will do only twice a month, then delete the ones you don’t need in the next step)

On this page, delete the date’s you will not meet. Remember the book fair dates as well. Use the calendar here as a guide to school holidays and half days.

There will be two roles for each session – the person who will teach the game to the class and the helper(s). You will need 2-3 people for each session depending on the complexity of the game.
