Description
Tangram puzzles are puzzles solved with geometric pieces. The Tangram puzzle originated in China hundreds of years ago. One story suggests that a Chinese man had created a beautiful ceramic tile and dropped it. The tile broke into 7 pieces and it has been said that he spent a very long time trying to put it back together.
The original shape of the Tangram was a square. It was cut into 5 triangles, 1 square and 1 parallelogram.
Each piece is called a Tan. Many puzzles are designed to resemble humans, animals, buildings, numbers, letters…
Rules:
* A Tangram puzzle contains all 7 pieces.
* Tans cannot be stacked or overlapped.
* Each tan must touch at least one other tan.
Remember that to place a tan correctly, you can:
* Turn it (rotate)
* Slide it
* Flip it
Packet with increasing difficulty. Please don’t skip and work on a strategy to help solve the puzzles.

The kids really like this activity. It may be helpful to have them work in pairs or groups. They will likely need some adult assistance with increased difficulty level of the Tangrams.

Kids had lot of fun while making the shapes. We tried both as pairs and individually. Both the methods worked well. They needed assistance with increased level of complexity.
